Modular power meter: Volt1000S, voltage input module with extra inputs and outputs
The Volt1000S is a successor of the Volt1000N, backward compatible, but with extra's and another casing.
The Volt1000S measures the voltages on the three phases L1,L2,L3 and the neutral line N.
This is the first module in the chain of current modules. The Volt1000S bridges the MODBUS-RTU to the current modules via an high speed communication bus.
Each subsequent module that is connected to the Volt1000S will get a MODBUS address.
Each current module calculates the powers from the measured currents combined with the received voltage samples from the Volt1000S.
The USB connector lets configure the Volt1000S and makes an upgrade of the software possible.
With our ModbusLink software, a user can do this and also check the power components.
A 12 pole 3,5mm pitch pluggable connector with screws is used for the IO's, 24V and MODBUS connection.
This MODBUS-RTU is terminated internally with a fixed 120 Ohm termination-resistor.
The RJ45-out plug goes, with a standard ethernet patch cable, to next module.
We can resumes this as follows:
The MODBUS master (often a PLC) initiates a query to the Volt1000N module (the Volt1000N is always a slave for MODBUS).
MODBUS answers can be found in the VOLT1000 or if desired in current module. The Volt1000 acts here as a bridge between MODBUS and the selected current module
The Volt1000S forward the power and is the first member of the local meter-bus, and have a connection to the next module.
The Volt1000S reads out the power calculated in the current modules and gives the MODBUS response.
The Volt1000S keeps track of the energy counters and store them it in his non volatile FRAM memory.
The new housing takes only 20mm of width on the DIN-rail.
All connections are pluggable
2-LED indicates the current status of the Volt1000S
Configuration and updates can via the MODBUS or the USB with our ModbusLink software or a propriate software of the client.
While this device is typically placed in a water tight box, it is potted with a resin to assure maximum safety and environment stability.
4 independently configurable IO's are added.
- As an alarm or error output
- As a door contact input
- As a temperature sensor input
- As a voltage input (0..24V DC)
- As a current input (4..20mA DC)
- 4 pull-up resistors are available (4.4 kOhm to the 24V power)
